12:21 am - Maverick Magazine

Hi everyone,

My name is Lisa and I'm the editor of an online literary publication called 'Maverick'. We're currently looking for poetry that could be included in our magazine. If you have any work that you'd like to see reach a wider audience, or be used in a more commercial format then we'd love to see it.

Our magazine is non-profit, so sadly I would not be able to offer commission for your work, but you would of course receive full credit and copyright for your contribution.

Our first issue was released in December and has been well received, and I would like our next issue to be a similar success. If you wish to have a look, it's available at: http://www.projectmaverick.eu.

Thanks for reading,

2:06 pm - UNTITLED

dirt-shroud mud-puddle baby
the black death swagger in my step
a dirge a dirge
mama earth
sings through the bone bare branches

the shriveled leaves
crackle with honey bee

a rooster crows
a silence settles
color drips from
corn fields

4:53 pm - Do something else.

You know you can do anything
Even though I don’t really like to admit that
Though the words still say ‘no’
It’s like a charm knowing what’s coming next
This time you’re in charge
It’s your turn now to decide
Who gets to watch movies, do their homework
Make the most noise so all the town
Hears, screams and shouts at the home with
Broken windows with spaces in between
Glass glinting in the iredescent light
reflecting a thousand frozen
Lost, ice-cubed dreams
You call the shots
make up your mind
Who gets their wishes fulfilled and who
Would be the one to sit out in the cold and
Cry all damn bloody night
Because you’re mean, because you don’t do what I say
And convince myself you don’t really care about anaesthesia
Or die trying anyway
Who’ll go to the carnival, who gets the stench of oil in their mouths
Laughing coughing choking
When the hand of God scatters stars about a black canvas
Because it’s now or nothing
Never doesn’t mean forever though FOB says so
As two shadows are darker than one lonely fellow

11:28 am - bLOODY

If the World,
turned you,
tormented you,
Shaped you
into a jagged
of glass,
what if i
broke you,
into a million tiny pieces
that scattered their way across the earth-

And when All the pieces
found their way back,
the Ocean, and it's sand
Morphed you together again-
a weatherED piece of blue-green sea glass
-and your luver came;
digging in the dunes
and found
And as he placed you in his (((pink))) palm, a piece of you
cut him
-made him bleed-
What If Your Luver Tried To Chip Away At Your Evolution

so you'd fit better inside his heart<3 ?

What Would Have Been The Point Of BREAKING?!

If Everything Dies Alone,
Would It Be Worth It To Be Rebourn on
luver's hope
to know that some day
I'd Be Forced To
watch the light in his eyes Die
(((would it be inhuman to call you mine?)))

11:12 am - A first draft of a new poem ... now edited.

What does not frighten the young boy will seldom
grow to torment the man he must soon become.

Sitting on a porch on a humid autumn
evening I thought about this and in doing
so unleashed a torrent of distant memories.

Though childhoods grown are never perfectly lived,
the moments that sustained us are those moments
that offered small comforts and securities.

Thoughts of wars, wives, the context of adult lives,
the setbacks and the gains, the joys and the pains
were given short reprieve by this autumn sky.

On the last day of my return to the home
they say we can’t return to, this Texas night
was taking me back to a distant time when

sitting on another porch, where life gave us
a safe haven from nature’s more violent side,
we watched in awe as the sky pounded it’s chest.

Tonight it afforded me a return to
those moments of comfort and security
when thunder and chain lighting strutted their best.

But as the awe returned reflections followed,
compelling me to consider the autumn
of a life being lived from Point A through B,

while thunder turned to metaphor to taunt me
now as “a tale told by an idiot, full
of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

What frightens a grown man is his fear that his
life lived has not signified nearly enough.

10:07 pm - Escape

I've thought of the blunder.
And I refuse to fall a sunder.
To the embers I will surrender, my flesh aching so tenderly.
I can't begin to breathe through the smoke.
The dust.
The claims.
The words that strike the shame.
The thoughts.
The blame.
All of which are bound to the same ignorance.
All that hides behind the claims of innocence.Read moreCollapse )

4:28 am - The Moment is Now

The Moment is Now
This is the time. This is my moment.
I live for each day. Moment to moment.
I will fight for love. I will fight for life.
I will fight.

I will stand in this ring and win what is mine.
A title, a heart, a life with pride.
I will leave victorious, glorious.
I will live for now, and nothing else.
I will fight.

This is my time.
I live for the moment.
That moment is now.
Note: I know it's not fantastic by any means lol... it's mostly just a tribute to Jeff Hardy... Poor dude... I refuse to watch Smackdown now... Jeff, it will never be the same without you. You ROCK!

2:54 pm - Relapse

I'm cold, yet I feel so hot
Cold sweats and horrifying dreams
My nightmares become reality
What is happening to me
I reach for it and catch nothing
Looking in the mirror, the image ugly
I'm still beautiful, my body is in perfect health
I inject myself one final time
I wish I never started
Look at me now
I'm just another statistic

11:06 am - Found

The snow lays a fluffy white blanket on the ground
The sky blow its icy cold breath down my neck
Each step I take
I sink deeper and deeper in the white abyss in front of me
I shiver as the snow
Touches my skin
It's getting harder to move
And I'm chilled to the bone
I would've seemed to be a bad idea to runaway
With the snow falling so heavily
To be honest
With my footprints in the ground
All I want to be is found

current mood: blah

10:30 pm - Love to Death

Slowly the rain fell
Hitting the windows
Making music of it's own
Lonely, she stood
On the balcony

Looking over the edge
Was a sight for only her to see
There laid a man
Surrounded by a red sea
A single tear raced
Down her cheek

Her love is death
An emotion never to be trusted
He loved her too much
And from the balcony he fell

8:49 am - just a thought...

The clockwork metamorphosis

By: Kristopher

Dues ex machina

As if life could be that

The change formed in

Cog and gears

Shifting with the passage of

The pendulum

Slowly come to default

Where it was before the

Price of existence

To change

The irony

We are born without

We live with

We die without

But the machine keeps

Steadfast and ever changing

Leaving us behind

Dues ex machina
